Addu City Council has said that 54 houses in the city sustained various levels of damages in the ongoing rain and strong wind in the country.
The Council said that the roofs if 54 houses were damaged while some had theirs completely destroyed. They said that the roofs of 11 houses have been repaired and the rest are being repaired as well. Maldives Police Service and the MNDF are assisting the recovery efforts of the Addu City Council.
Addu City Council has have cleared 35 trees that fell down during the storm.
Talking to One Online, the MET Office said that while rain will affect Addu City today, the weather would be better in general. Winds in the far south of the country is expected to be between 3-10 mph.
The MET Office forecast shows heavy rain in the north and central atolls of the country.
