MET Office: Seas will be rough, swell waves expected at high tide

Maldives Meteorological Service has said that was are expected to be tough during the rain across the country.

The MET Office said that while seas are expected to be moderately rough, they will be more severe during showers. And some islands may experience swell waves during high tide.

With the possibility of heavy rain and winds up to 55 mph, a Yellow Weather Alert has been issued to be in effect until 5 p.m. today for the islands between Laamu Atoll and Addu City.

A White Alert was issued to the Central Atolls with winds expected at 45 mph.

The MET Office forecast shows winds at 16 mph in the Southern Atolls picking up to 35 mph during shower.
