More than 30 homes in Feydhoo, Addu City, have been affected by flooding amid heavy rainfall in the southern atolls, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has said.

The NDMA said heavy rain has been reported across Gaafu Alif, Gaafu Dhaalu, Fuvahmulah City and the islands of Addu City since this morning, resulting in various types of damage.

In Feydhoo, flooding has affected eight occupied homes, including one housing two people requiring special assistance. The homes have become uninhabitable due to the flooding.

The NDMA said it is working with the Addu City Council to provide the affected family with temporary shelter and essential assistance.
