President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that Israeli citizens will not be able to purchase any property from the Rasmalé project being developed in partnership with UAE's Eagle Hills company, and that based on those who have expressed interest, the area will be predominantly inhabited by Maldivians and Arab Muslims.

Speaking on the President's Office podcast "The Pulse," the President made these remarks in response to claims being spread that Jewish individuals will purchase the long-term apartments sold from Rasmalé and that the location will become a settlement for them.

Denying these claims, the President stated that this is something that will not happen in reality, noting that those currently expressing interest in purchasing property from the location are people from Gulf countries and Middle Eastern Arab nations.

"I would say Maldivians and Arabs will be the ones staying here. Arab Muslims, you see? Therefore, there is no opportunity for that," the President said.

Reassuring that there will be no room for Israeli citizens in Rasmalé, the President stated that acquiring any property from there will be legally barred for those parties. He added that these are groundless stories and that this administration will not allow such an occurrence.

The President accused opposition parties of trying to create fear in the hearts of citizens by spreading irrational stories for political purposes. He stated that the nationalism project initiated by the government is an initiative launched to protect Maldivian identity and traditions. In that regard, teaching nationalism in schools and the effort to ban the Israeli passport are matters being carried out under this policy.

The President stated that the Rasmalé project will be carried out in a way that protects Maldivian customs and beliefs, and that this will become clear when the necessary legislative amendments to fulfill these matters are submitted to the People's Majlis.
