MDP Chairperson Fayyaz Ismail and former President Mohamed Nasheed have traveled to India.

Nasheed and Fayyaz arrived in India yesterday. Nasheed traveled to India following his participation in the "Bay of Bengal Conversation 2026" held in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.

According to information obtained, Nasheed and Fayyaz are scheduled to meet with senior Indian officials during this trip. However, the exact purpose of their visit, the duration of their stay, and the specific individuals they will be meeting with are not yet clear.

The two leaders traveled to India together as Fayyaz contests the MDP presidential primary with Nasheed's backing. Working closely in political alignment, the "Bodu Badhalu" and decentralization policies proposed by Fayyaz were also approved at the most recent MDP congress.
