The Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has officially taken over the water and sewerage services of Addu City and Fuvahmulah City.

In a social media post today, MWSC Managing Director Hussain Fahmy stated that the company took over operations in the two cities last Thursday.

Following this transition, a framework agreement was signed between MWSC and Fenaka Corporation. Fahmy noted that the process of transferring all water and sewerage-related infrastructure and facilities in the two cities—including Hithadhoo and Meedhoo in Addu City—has now been fully completed.

The transfer of these services aligns with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's policy to reform the corporate sector.

Fahmy highlighted that technical assessments have been conducted to further strengthen these systems and ensure uninterrupted, reliable, and quality service for the public.

Based on these assessments, practical efforts to elevate service quality and improve operational efficiency in both cities are currently underway.

Operations, infrastructure, and resources have been handed over from Fenaka to MWSC, with ongoing projects, customer records, agreements, inventory, and other responsibilities to be transferred upon verification according to established procedures.
