Seventy-three students graduated today from the second batch of the "National Service Skills Training Program," a government initiative aimed at building a responsible and skilled youth generation.

The graduation ceremony, held this morning at the MNDF School of Engineering and Logistics in B. Kihadhoo, was honored by Minister of Defense and National Service, Hassan Rasheed.

Initiated on June 3rd with 77 students, the program concluded with 60 male and 13 female graduates representing 45 islands across 16 atolls. The majority of the participants were 17 and 18 years old, comprising 41 seventeen-year-olds and 30 eighteen-year-olds.

National Service Skills Training Program graduates 73 students

The 16-week training program is designed for students who complete the National Service Initial Training. Out of the 73 graduates, 66 achieved Certificate Level 3 qualifications across six fields: Marine Engineering (15), Automobile Engineering (14), Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (13), Electrician (11), Office Management (7), and Welding and Metal Fabrication (6).

In addition to technical proficiencies, the training covered physical fitness, swimming, drills, sports, life skills, environmental care, team building, leadership, and discipline. According to the Ministry, the program's objective is to foster capable, productive, and responsible young individuals.

With the completion of this second batch, a total of 136 students have now graduated from the national service technical training program, and preparations are underway to launch the third batch mid-month.
