The renovated areas of Ameenee Magu are scheduled to be opened to public transport this coming Sunday, according to the Ministry of Housing.

The Ministry stated that final finishing touches on the road are currently underway. The modernization project was contracted to the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) in June following the deterioration of the road's previous asphalt layer.

Work on the first segment—extending from Izzuddine Magu to the park near Dharumavantha Hospital—was completed on the 15th of this month.

Following that, practical work on the second segment began on the 23rd, with the new two-layer asphalt paving completed last Monday to ensure enhanced long-term durability.
