As part of the government's project to renovate Ameenee Magu, the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has completed all asphalt laying work on the second segment.

MTCC was contracted in June of this year to modernly renovate Ameenee Magu after its existing asphalt layer had deteriorated.

While the project is being carried out across multiple phases, work on the first segment—extending from Izzuddin Magu to the park near Dharumavantha Hospital—was completed on the 15th of this month.

Following that, practical work on the second segment began on the 23rd of this month, and after removing the old asphalt layer, new asphalt has now been successfully laid and completed.

To enhance the durability of the road, asphalt is being laid in two layers during this project.
