President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that additional housing loan opportunities will be opened for people who want to complete their homes.

Speaking on the “Rayyithunge Adu” programme, the President said the government is working to address difficulties faced by families in completing their houses. He said the Housing Ministry is also working on a new loan scheme.

The government has already provided loans to more than 800 people under its Hiyaavehi housing scheme as of last month. The President has also announced plans to introduce a special scheme that will provide families with equity.

Other issues raised on the programme included retirement age, changes to the pay framework, and salary differences between employees in some sectors. President Dr Muizzu said the government would work to address these concerns and ensure employees are properly valued for their work.
