The Maldives and Vietnam have signed an agreement to further strengthen longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

The agreement was signed during a meeting held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Foreign Minister Iruthisham Adam signed the agreement on behalf of the Maldives, while Vietnamese Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung signed on behalf of Vietnam.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated today that the agreement will provide a structured framework for regular consultations between the two countries on regional and international issues.

Minister Iruthisham noted that the agreement will help foster closer cooperation and ties between the two nations. The Minister also stated that she looks forward to working closely with Vietnam to further strengthen and enhance bilateral relations.
