Police have stated that the person driving one of the motorcycles involved in the serious accident late last night near City Bakery on Sosun Magu in Malé did not possess a land vehicle driving license.

In a message sent to media outlets today, police stated that information regarding the two-motorcycle collision on Sosun Magu was received at around 1:12 AM last night.

Police reported that a 21-year-old and a 22-year-old Maldivian male, along with a 26-year-old Maldivian female, sustained various injuries in the accident. Authorities further confirmed that the 21-year-old youth driving one of the motorcycles involved in the crash does not hold any land vehicle driving license.

According to "One," the accident occurred when a black Wave 125 motorcycle and an Exciter 150 motorcycle collided.

"At the time of the accident, the woman sitting on the back of the motorcycle was thrown off. Her head was split open and there was a lot of bleeding," an eyewitness told "One." When journalists arrived at the scene, a large amount of blood was still visible on the street, and both motorcycles sustained extensive damage.

The woman was taken to ADK Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. A source with knowledge of the matter stated, "She has various injuries. She is currently being treated in the ICU; her condition is critical."

Additionally, the two men involved in the accident were taken to IGMH for treatment. "One" has learned that both men suffered fractures to their facial bones in multiple places and internal bleeding, though an official statement from IGMH has not yet been received.

Police stated that they are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
