President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has emphasized that regardless of individual political views and affiliations, everyone must always prioritize the nation above all else.

Speaking last night at the closing ceremony of the People's National Congress (PNC) congress, the President noted that historical heroes fought for the country by putting the nation first, rather than focusing on personal interests, family, or friends. He credited their sacrifice as the reason Maldivians are able to live comfortably in the country today.

"That is why we established 'Nation First' as this party's philosophy. We are sincere people. We use the intellect gifted to us by Allah, faithfully fulfill the responsibility entrusted to us by Him, and are a people who will pass on this country to future generations with the nation prioritized above all else," the President stated.

"Therefore, this party will move forward with that philosophy. There are no disagreements on this within the party. That is why our ranks are so united, and why there is no division among us."

The President stated that whenever governance fell to those outside the PNC's ideology, the country deteriorated, arguing that the most beneficial path for the nation is to progress alongside the PNC. He assured that the administration will always choose the side of the people and govern in accordance with their wishes.

"We will move forward with the philosophy of building, with fairness, justice, and sincerity, putting the nation first to solve the problems existing in the country. We want to solve the problems in the nation," the President said.

He declared that the PNC is the only political party capable of speaking with genuine patriotism, highlighting that it is a party that makes promises to the public and fulfills them. In this context, he reiterated that there are no longer any Indian military personnel stationed in the Maldives.

While the Maldives maintains close relations with regional countries, the President stressed that the national ideology will always take precedence. He accused rival administrations of driving the Maldives into debt and selling off national assets, noting that the current government is actively working to rescue the nation from debt and reclaim its assets.

"Anyone who has the pulse of the nation first in their heart will support those working to bring Maldivian assets back into Maldivian hands. That is the difference between the PNC's ideology and others," the President concluded.
