PNC Vice President and Parliamentary Group Leader Ibrahim Falah has described former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom's governance as a "headache," stating that the Maldivian public does not desire such a regime.

Speaking last night at the closing ceremony of the PNC congress, Falah said that remarks made by opposition parties over the lack of multiple contenders for the PNC presidential ticket stem from jealousy. Referring to the 2013–2018 administration, he noted that the PPM presidential ticket in 2018 was also awarded without a primary. Falah highlighted that the defeat in that year's election was due to unaccounted campaign funds, the treatment of parliamentary members, the imprisonment of political leaders, and corrupt practices.

Falah stated that during that period, current PNC Chairperson Abdul Raheem Abdulla had advised releasing political prisoners and refraining from interfering with the courts, but President Yameen had refused. Comparing this with President Muizzu's three years in office, Falah noted that currently no political figures are in prison and courts are not subjected to direct executive interference.

Falah, who also serves as the MP for the Inguraidhoo constituency, stated that PNC members in the People's Majlis are fully prepared to secure victory for President Muizzu in the 2028 election. Accusing the opposition of attempting to dismantle the parliamentary group using financial and other influences, he assured that such attempts would not succeed. He also claimed that the PNC sometimes intentionally provides misinformation to deceive the opposition, who then spread it without verifying its accuracy.

Describing the conditions of the former administration, Falah remarked that it was a headache so severe "taking four or five Panadol pills wouldn't cure it." He noted that Supreme Court justices and former leaders aged 70 or 80 were imprisoned at the time. Stating that the Maldivian public does not look forward to such a regime, Falah suggested that former leaders would do better to stay home.
