A total of 1,996 plots allocated under the previous administration’s Binveriyaa scheme in Gulhifalhu and Hulhumalé Phase III have been handed over so far, according to Housing Ministry statistics.
Of the 3,548 plots allocated in Gulhifalhu, registry documents have been issued for 3,086 plots, or 87 per cent, while 1,393 plots, or 39.3 per cent, have been physically handed over.
The ministry said registry documents for Gulhifalhu plots are now available through the Hiyaa Vehi portal. Plots located in areas designated for the Thila-Malé Bridge project and other purposes will be handed over as soon as the areas are cleared.
For Hulhumalé Phase III, 641 of the 698 allocated plots have received registry documents, representing 92 per cent, while 603 plots, or 86 per cent, have been handed over.
The ministry said Phase III recipients will be notified to clear and demarcate their plots before the physical handover.
