Police have provided assistance to a supply boat carrying a cargo of timber after the vessel began taking on water.

According to the police, the vessel named "Sealine 3" was traveling from Malé to a resort in Raa Atoll when the incident occurred.

While transiting the Kaashidhoo Channel, the dhoni began taking on water after a securing belt holding the timber cargo snapped, causing the vessel to list. The incident was reported to authorities at approximately 09:57 AM today.

Upon receiving the report, a launch from the nearest B. Eydhafushi Police Station was deployed to the scene. To prevent the vessel from sinking, some of the cargo on board was jettisoned into the sea.

There were four individuals on board at the time: three Maldivian men and one foreign man. Police confirmed that efforts to pump out the water and secure the vessel are currently ongoing.
