A spacious land plot measuring 13,574 square feet in Hulhumalé has been allocated to set up the head office of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), along with an emergency operations center and a specialized temporary shelter facility.

NDMA announced today that to expand and further develop its operational scope, the government has arranged a permanent plot in Hulhumalé Phase Two, which has now been officially handed over to the authority.

According to the authority, the newly allocated land will house NDMA's main headquarters, a state-of-the-art Emergency Operations Center, an emergency warehouse for storing disaster relief supplies, and a dedicated facility designed to provide temporary shelter for victims during emergency situations.

NDMA noted that this new space will significantly boost the country's national-level emergency response capacity during disasters and crisis situations, while substantially enhancing the services delivered to the public.
