More than 700 applications have been submitted to participate in Dhiveheenge Ufehdhuntherikamuge Maurazu 2026 (Maldives Expo), Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed has stated.

The Business Center Corporation (BCC) opened applications for the 2026 exhibition on April 9 of this year.

The deadline for application submissions closed on Monday of this week.

In a post on X yesterday, Minister Saeed highlighted that the expo provides an opportunity to transform the handmade craftsmanship and creativity of talented young artists into viable commercial products.

"With more than 700 individuals having registered so far, this expo has seen participation double compared to last year," the Minister remarked.

This year's exhibition will showcase entries across 73 categories within 16 designated sectors.

The opportunity to participate was opened to Maldivian citizens aged 13 and above, local businesses, state-owned enterprises (SOEs), educational institutions, island and city councils, as well as persons with disabilities.

Dhiveheenge Ufehdhuntherikamuge Maurazu 2026 is scheduled to be held from October 23 to 31 this year.
