President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu stated today that his vision is to make the engineering sector in the Maldives an industry staffed exclusively by Maldivians.
President Dr. Muizzu made the remarks while speaking with students from the Faculty of Engineering, Science and Technology at the Maldives National University (MNU).
The President stated that Maldivian engineers are vital to national development.
In addition, considering the nation's developmental needs, the President highlighted that it is crucial for as many Maldivians as possible to graduate across various engineering disciplines and serve the country.
Explaining the purpose of marking National Engineers' Day today, the President said the decision to commemorate the day was made to inspire and attract more individuals into the field. He noted that observing Engineers' Day was therefore established as a national policy.
