President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has expressed confidence that the Government’s measures to address the shortage of foreign exchange will produce positive results.

Speaking on the State Media’s Nation Chat programme, President Dr Muizzu said the Government was working to organise its foreign exchange policies systematically and implement measures that had previously been provided for in law but not fully implemented.

He said the measures being taken to address the foreign exchange situation were necessary and aimed at supporting economic growth.

President Dr Muizzu said the Government’s measures were based on facts and had been developed following extensive consultations, technical evaluations and studies.

He added that teams of technical experts would implement the measures through a proper and systematic process.

The President also said that, while some parties may make different claims about the foreign exchange situation for political purposes, the Government remained confident that the measures being implemented would ultimately produce positive results.
