The Maldives will host the SIDS Global Business Network Forum and the Island Investment Forum this month, bringing together representatives from Small Island Developing States (SIDS) to strengthen economic ties and promote investment opportunities.

The SIDS Global Business Network Forum will be held at the Barceló Nasandhura Malé from Sunday through Tuesday. It is being organised jointly by the Maldivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the Government of Antigua and Barbuda, and the UN Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States.

More than 200 delegates from over 30 countries are expected to attend.

The forum aims to increase the role of businesses, investors and civil society in the development of SIDS, while providing opportunities to share experiences, address business challenges and strengthen economic cooperation.

The Maldives will showcase its development experience and innovations, particularly in tourism, fisheries, renewable energy and environmental protection.

The newly launched Island Investment Forum will also be inaugurated during the event. The platform aims to attract investors to SIDS and highlight investment opportunities across these countries.
