A car crashed into solar panels installed along the highway between Malé and Hulhumalé at around 9:00am today.

The vehicle, identified as a Lamborghini Revuelto recently imported by Hawks Company, reportedly lost control while attempting to make a U-turn and crashed into the solar panels.

Police said the incident was reported at 8:42am, with the vehicle hitting the poles supporting the solar panels and overturning.

Two people, an adult and a child, were in the car at the time of the accident and are receiving treatment at Tree Top Hospital.

Police said neither sustained serious injuries, although the car and the solar panels were significantly damaged.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
