Yazmeed Mohamed has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Maldives Pension Administration Office.

Yazmeed, who resigned from his posts as Vice President and Member of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) last May, has been appointed to head the Pension Office for a five-year term effective from this coming Sunday.

Yazmeed brings over 20 years of experience across senior roles in both public and private sectors. He has extensive expertise in governance, auditing, anti-corruption, accounting, finance, and administration.

Among the prominent roles he previously held are Vice President of the Judicial Service Commission, Member of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), and Audit Manager at the Auditor General's Office.

Yazmeed is a Certified Chartered Accountant qualified through the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). He holds a Master's degree in Management from Open University Malaysia, as well as a First-Class Honours Degree in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University.

The Pension Office stated today that under the new CEO’s leadership, the Board aims to further strengthen the organization’s administrative governance framework and advance ongoing efforts to build a robust, sustainable pension system in the Maldives.

Yazmeed previously served on the JSC as the President's representative. He also contested in the most recent parliamentary elections on the ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) ticket.
