Speaking at the official National Day function held in HA. Utheemu today, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu emphasized that National Day serves as a vital reminder to avoid divisions, remain united, and foster civilized social values and mutual respect across all levels of Maldivian society.

The President highlighted simple acts of everyday courtesy—such as thanking a taxi driver, holding elevator doors for others, making room on sidewalks, and treating neighbors with Islamic dignity regardless of whether they are strangers—as essential practices that transform estrangement into friendship and build secure, harmonious communities. He stressed that mutual respect must be cultivated across all spheres, from family life to national duties, including listening patiently and responding courteously to others even during disagreements.

President Muizzu also underscored the importance of professional integrity, diligence, and punctuality in the workplace, noting that respectful and committed public service significantly enhances public satisfaction. He affirmed that lasting peace, security, and meaningful socioeconomic and infrastructural progress can only be achieved when citizens nurture these moral values and unite in the spirit of their ancestors to keep the nation a peaceful haven.
