President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to providing young people with opportunities in skills development, education and employment.

In a post on X marking International Youth Day, President Dr Muizzu said the creativity, innovation and determination of young people continue to contribute to the development of the nation and society.

Noting that young people make up around 45 per cent of the Maldives’ population, the President said their hopes and aspirations are central to the country’s future.

He said the Government is committed to expanding opportunities for higher education, skills development and meaningful employment.

The President also highlighted the National Apprenticeship Programme and National Service Programme, saying they are strengthening pathways from education to employment.

He expressed confidence that the country’s present and future are in the hands of its youth and that they will lead the Maldives towards prosperity, innovation and sustainable development.
