Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has stated that waste accumulated near the Fahi flats in Hulhumalé Phase 2 weighed 670 tons.

HDC, Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC), and Hulhumalé Police jointly conducted an operation yesterday to clear the waste accumulated near the Fahi flats.

HDC stated that under the program titled 'Madhirin Rakhaa', the waste collected near Hulhumalé Fahi flats totaled 670 tons. The corporation noted that this is roughly equivalent to the weight of 450–500 cars, adding that HDC teams will continue cleaning efforts in Hulhumalé today as well.

Furthermore, Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has warned that individuals dumping waste near the Fahi flats will be identified through video footage and fined.

Speaking in a media interview yesterday, FDC's Deputy Managing Director Ibrahim Razan requested residents living in Fahi Towers to identify those dumping waste in the area and report them to FDC and HDC.

"Once reported, we will monitor the situation and take action. Furthermore, once this area is completely cleared, we will develop the area, lay paving blocks, and build green spaces as desired by the residents," Razan said.

He added that these plans can only be successfully fulfilled if residents of the Fahi flats cooperate with relevant authorities and report rule violators to the company.
