The Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development has stated that the quay wall extending from Shaheed Hussain Adam Building (police headquarters) to Dhoshimeyna Building is an area designated exclusively for the use of the Ministry of Defence.

In an announcement published yesterday, the Housing Ministry stated that a specific section of the quay wall developed under the North Malé Boduthakurufaanu Magu Development Project has been reserved for defence and national service needs.

The Ministry specified that this area consists of the newly constructed quay wall stretching from Shaheed Hussain Adam Building to Dhoshimeyna Building. Consequently, docking any vessel other than those belonging to the Defence Ministry in this area is strictly prohibited.

Previously, this area was also allocated for mooring MNDF vessels, with docking prohibited for other vessels. However, while work on Boduthakurufaanu Magu was underway, public vessels were temporarily allowed to dock there.

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) paved the road with asphalt from Henveiru Ferry Terminal to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, fully reopening the road late last month.
