The Maldives Police Service has urged the public to celebrate responsibly during the 2026 FIFA World Cup final between Argentina and Spain, asking fans to avoid excessive noise and disruptive behaviour.

In a statement issued on Sunday, police reminded supporters to respect the rights of others, particularly as the match will kick off at 12:00 a.m. Maldivian time, when many people will be resting.

Police called on the public to refrain from making excessive noise, playing loud music, revving motorcycle engines and gathering in ways that disturb residents. They also urged fans not to park motorcycles in a manner that obstructs roads or inconveniences other road users while watching the match on public screening displays.

Supporters were further advised against gathering on roads or sounding motorcycle horns after the match, cautioning that such actions could create disturbances for nearby residents and cause traffic disruptions.

Police stressed the importance of considering children, elderly people and local communities while celebrating the final.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup final between defending champions Argentina and Spain is scheduled to kick off at midnight, Maldivian time.
