The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) will conduct a survey of Maldivians returning from overseas to collect data on travel-related expenditure.
The survey will be carried out at Velana International Airport's arrival hall from 25 to 31 July. It aims to gather information needed to compile the Maldives' Balance of Payments statistics.
The survey will collect details such as the purpose of travel, destination, ticket and accommodation costs, and total travel expenditure. The MMA said no personal information, such as names or addresses, will be collected and all responses will remain confidential.
The central bank has urged returning Maldivian travellers to participate in the survey during the survey period.
