President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has officiated the oath-taking and firearms presentation ceremony for the graduates of the 72nd and 73rd batches of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Basic Training Course.

Held at the K. Girifushi parade ground, the ceremony saw the oath administered by High Court Judge Uz Hussain Mazeed, after which the President presented the newly sworn-in soldiers with their firearms.

The graduates completed their training between March and June this year, with the 72nd batch trained at the Addu Training Centre and the 73rd batch at Girifushi.

Following the ceremony, President Dr Muizzu visited the Girifushi land reclamation site to inspect the progress of the ongoing project, which aims to strengthen the MNDF's training infrastructure and operational capabilities.
