The body of an 82-year-old man was found in the lagoon near the harbour of B. Eydhafushi on Tuesday morning.

Police said they received a report at 7:55 a.m. that a person had been found dead in the water near the Eydhafushi harbour area.

The deceased has been identified as Ali Abdulla, 82, of Seesan, B. Eydhafushi.

Police are investigating the incident.

Mohamed Shakeel, Manager of Health Services at B. Atoll Hospital, said the body has been taken to Eydhafushi Hospital. He added that further information will be shared by the police as the investigation progresses.
