Statistics from the Ministry of Finance show that spending on salaries and pensions in the first six months of this year has reached MVR 8 billion.

According to the Ministry's data, a total of MVR 3.7 billion has been spent on salaries and wages so far this year. This represents a 13.9 percent increase compared to the previous year.

The Weekly Fiscal Report published by the Ministry indicates that MVR 3.1 billion of the total employee expenditure was spent on allowances.

Additionally, out of the expenditure allocated for state employees, MVR 389.8 million was spent on retirement benefits and pensions.
