The completion of the Media Village project in Hulhumalé Phase One has been delayed due to modifications requested by media organisations, according to Government Spokesperson Mohamed Hussain Shareef (Mundhu).
Speaking at a press conference at the President’s Office on Saturday, Mundhu said feedback was sought from media organisations as the project neared completion. He noted that several suggestions were received regarding the layout, size and services to be provided at the facility.
He said the proposed changes required structural modifications to the building, resulting in delays to the project.
The Media Village is being developed in a building originally constructed by STO around 17 years ago for a city hotel project in Hulhumalé Phase One. The project is being carried out by World of Business Private Limited and will accommodate 34 media organisations.
