The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has opened scholarship opportunities for Maldivian students to pursue Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD degrees at universities in Malaysia.

MMA said applications will close at 2:00 p.m. on June 30.

The scholarships are aimed at developing skilled professionals in finance, economics and related fields that are important to the Maldives. Available programs include a Bachelor of Accounting, Master of Laws, Master of Economics, and several PhD programs in finance, economics and applied Islamic finance.

According to MMA, successful applicants will be required to serve the authority for five years after completing their studies.

The scholarship package provides full financial support, including tuition fees, living allowances, book allowances, establishment and departure allowances, visa expenses, and health insurance.
