President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed travelled to Meedhoo in Dhaalu Atoll today to celebrate the victory of the ruling People's National Congress (PNC) in the island council chairperson by-election.

Upon their arrival, the President and First Lady received a warm welcome from island residents.

The visit is being made in the President’s capacity as leader of the PNC following the party candidate’s victory in the Meedhoo Council chairperson election.

A special gathering has been organised in Meedhoo tonight to mark the win. The President is expected to attend the event and meet with residents during the visit.
