Former Health Minister Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim has been appointed to a senior position at the President’s Office.
According to the President’s Office website, Nazim has been appointed as Principal Secretary to the President on Policy and Manifesto. He was appointed to the role earlier this week.
Nazim most recently served as Minister of Health before resigning from the post on 14 April.
At the start of the current administration, he served as Principal Secretary for Public Policy at the President’s Office. He was later appointed Health Minister on 30 September 2024 following a Cabinet reshuffle.
His appointment comes after several ministers resigned following the local council elections in April as part of government restructuring efforts. Some former ministers have since been assigned to senior government positions.
Meanwhile, former Local Government Minister Adam Shareef has been nominated as Ambassador to Qatar, while former Tourism Minister Thoriq Ibrahim has been proposed as Ambassador to the UAE, pending parliamentary approval.
