The Ministry of Transport has stated that it has been decided to launch the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) ferry service in Meemu Atoll late this month.

MTCC operates the RTL ferry service across the Maldives, which is divided into six zones. MTCC will utilize ferries with a 48-passenger capacity to provide the service.

To date, the ferry service has been rolled out in 15 atolls across the country.

The Transport Ministry noted that final preparations to launch the RTL service in M. Atoll are currently underway, and MTCC is conducting public awareness programs.

Apart from M. Atoll, the remaining areas left to implement the service are Kaafu (K.), Alifu Alifu (AA.), Alifu Dhaalu (ADh.), and Vaavu (V.) Atolls, which are included in Zone 3.

The government aims to expand the ferry service to all remaining atolls before August.
