Major changes have been brought to the administrative management and organizational structure of the Maldives Police Service.

According to the police, these changes, which came into effect yesterday, are reforms implemented with the objective of achieving better results in delivering police services.

Under the new structure, several key police units—including investigations, intelligence, forensics, operational support, technology, training, and corporate support—have been reorganized under specialized commands.

Furthermore, the police stated that commanders have been appointed for 14 different areas.

The police added that this structure has been designed to strengthen coordination between various departments and enhance operational management.
