The Kudahuvadhoo Football Team has asked the Football Association of Maldives (FAM) to review its decision regarding the Central Region tournament match against K. Huraa.

Kudahuvadhoo had originally won the final match 4-1 in Dhaalu Atoll. However, FAM later stated that the team had fielded two ineligible players and ruled the match as forfeited under tournament regulations, awarding Huraa a 2-0 victory.

Following the decision, Huraa moved to the top of the Central League table with 13 points from six matches, while Kudahuvadhoo dropped to second place with eight points.

Kudahuvadhoo Council said the decision was unfair and requested an appeal. The council stated that player Ayaz Mohamed, who was accused of playing illegally, had already served his suspension after receiving two yellow cards and did not play in the May 18 match sheet.

The council also accused FAM of failing to provide updated tournament regulations despite changing the tournament name several times. It further claimed that match officials had confirmed before the game that Ayaz was eligible to play.

Kudahuvadhoo also said the complaint against the player was submitted more than 30 minutes after the match ended. The team has requested FAM to reconsider the case to ensure fairness.

FAM has not yet confirmed whether it will accept the appeal.
