President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has sent Independence Day greetings to Ilham Aliyev and Ali Asadov.

In his message, President Dr Muizzu highlighted the close ties between the Maldives and Azerbaijan as the two countries approach 20 years of diplomatic relations. He expressed hope that cooperation and friendship between the nations would continue to grow.

The President also noted the importance of mutual understanding and joint efforts in strengthening bilateral relations for the benefit of both countries.

On his official X account, President Dr Muizzu said Azerbaijan has made significant progress since gaining independence, advancing in line with the aspirations of its people.

Azerbaijan celebrates Independence Day every year on May 28, marking the declaration of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in 1918.
