President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu today appealed to adhere to fine Islamic principles and stay away from practices alien to the beautiful customs of Maldivians while carrying out Eid al-Adha celebratory activities.

In his address on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, the President stated that the true essence of Eid is to adorn oneself in the pure garment of piety and to renew the determination to prioritize the path of religion and truth.

The President said that the lessons taught by this Eid must be remembered — to view the smiles of the vulnerable and lonely in society as one's own happiness. Furthermore, he described the noble bond of unity fostered by Eid al-Adha as a powerful force for maintaining peace and harmony throughout the entire nation.

Noting that Eid al-Adha is an Eid in which Allah has placed highly important lessons and wisdom, and that this joy, spreading in every direction from the equality of the sacred plains of Arafat, is the brightest symbol of human compassion, he stated that performing the Udhiyah sacrifice and exchanging gifts are actions that strengthen the social fabric of the community.

The President said that this is a season that brings life to hearts with the cool breeze of forgiveness. Highlighting that this is the most opportune moment to foster family love with parents and relatives, he encouraged all citizens to strengthen those bonds.
