The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has announced that this year’s Eid al-Adha prayers will be held in congregation at four locations across the Greater Male’ Region.

According to the ministry, Eid prayers for 1447 Hijri will begin at 7:00 a.m. on Eid morning. The designated venues are Maafannu Stadium, Vilimale’ Football Stadium, the Synthetic Track area in Hulhumale’ Phase 1, and the Cricket Stadium in Hulhumale’ Phase 2. Separate prayer areas will be arranged for men and women.

In addition to the large congregations, Eid prayers will also take place in mosques throughout the Greater Male’ Region. In Male’ City, prayers will be held in 17 mosques, including the Islamic Centre.

Several mosques in Hulhumale’ Phases 1 and 2, as well as mosques in Vilimale’, will also host Eid prayers.

The ministry stated that if weather conditions, such as heavy rain, make it difficult to hold prayers outdoors, the large congregations will be cancelled and prayers will instead be held in mosques across Male’ City.

Authorities, including police and city council officials, have begun preparations for traffic control and parking arrangements as large crowds are expected to attend the prayers.
