Three individuals have been arrested in Lhaviyani Atoll Hinnavaru on suspicion of trafficking and using illicit narcotics.

Police stated yesterday that the individuals arrested in connection with the case are Ahmed Ziyadh Adam (38) of Shady Side, Lh. Hinnavaru; Majid Mohamed (30) of Neza, Lh. Hinnavaru; and Mohamed Ibrahim (51) of Dhilsaadhuge, Lh. Hinnavaru.

The suspects were arrested on the 13th of this month during a joint operation conducted by the Hinnavaru Police Station and Counter Narcotics Intelligence. Police reported that during the operation, the individuals were apprehended under a court order, and a search of the house where they were present at the time uncovered 21 rubber packets containing suspected narcotics, along with items believed to be used in drug trafficking.

When brought before the court to determine their remand status, the court ordered Ziyadh to be remanded for 15 days, Majid for four days, and Mohamed for 30 days. The police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
