"One Sports" has been announced and finalized as the online media partner for Raaraa Pro 2026, a major kitesurfing event scheduled to take place in Dhiffushi from June 1st to June 6th this year.
The first edition of Raaraa Pro was successfully held in Dhiffushi last year. Last year's tournament concluded in a festive atmosphere, wrapping up as a spectacular competition featuring 20 athletes. Hassan Mahir (Hantey) from Baa Atoll Goidhoo won the tournament, which marked the launch of a brand-new major kitesurfing event in the Maldives.
"One Sports" served as the media partner for last year's Raaraa Pro as well. At the event held to sign the agreement finalizing "One Sports" as the media partner for Raaraa Pro, Mohamed Shamoon, the editor of "One Sports," signed on behalf of One Media Group. Founder Hassan Rasheed (Rush) signed on behalf of the event organizer, Iconic Events.
During a previous ceremony held to announce this year's event, Rush noted that he highly appreciated the efforts made by the "One Sports" team to provide complete coverage of the tournament last year. He also highly praised the time spent and the attention dedicated to the work by the team.
On behalf of "One Sports," Shamoon noted that Raaraa Pro is an excellent event showcasing talented athletes. He specifically highlighted that the event takes place in a festive atmosphere, describing it as a festival that comes to Dhiffushi. Shamoon further stated that, just like last year, the "One Sports" team will work to bring complete coverage to the audience this year as well. He also expressed his gratitude to Iconic Events for their continued trust.
The ambassador for this year's Raaraa Pro is Wisam Mohamed (Thotho), who hails from Haa Dhaalu Vaikaradhoo. He was the athlete who secured third place in the event last year.
This year's Raaraa Pro is being announced with an additional category. While only the slalom racing category was held last year, plans are in place to include a freestyle kiteboarding category this year.
This year's event will feature more athletes than before. Along with this, it has been announced that one of Asia's strongest kitesurfers, Narapichit Pudla (Yo) from Thailand, will be competing.
