Two new cases of measles have been confirmed in the greater Male’ region, according to the Health Protection Agency.

The agency said the cases were identified today and that investigations are underway. Health officials are also tracing and vaccinating close contacts of the infected individuals.

The Maldives has now confirmed a total of five measles cases, including two imported cases from abroad.

The public has been advised to seek medical attention if they develop symptoms such as fever and red skin rashes.
