The central bank, MMA, has announced that registration for the competition to create products using shredded "Ran Dhihafaheh" series banknotes—which were shredded due to wear and tear—will remain open until the end of tomorrow.

According to the MMA, the objective of the competition is to breathe new life into shredded currency by creating meaningful products. The competition is divided into two categories: creating artwork using shredded notes and designing and producing "souvenirs" that can be kept as keepsakes.

The authority stated that the souvenirs designed in this competition would be items that the MMA can use as official gifts. It also noted that shredded currency must be the primary material used in the creation of the artwork.

The best products selected from this competition will be exhibited at the Maldives Financial Expo, which will be held by the MMA in July this year.

This is a competition specifically for Maldivians. Individuals, teams, and businesses are all eligible to participate. Furthermore, contestants can compete in both categories if they wish.

Cash prizes have been set for both categories of the competition. Additionally, those who win in the souvenir design category will be given the opportunity to produce the souvenirs under a specific agreement with the MMA.

Those interested in participating are requested to complete the application form and proposal available on the MMA website and email them to [email protected].
