President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that employees who experienced a pay reduction during the pay harmonization process will see their salaries increase starting with this month's pay.
At a press conference held today at the President's Office, President Muizzu noted that there are employees who were negatively affected by the pay harmonization process. However, he stated that his pledge remains to increase the salaries of all employees.
"When salaries are received this time, God willing, the issues of employees whose total pay did not increase will be resolved, though this is not to say there won't be specific individual cases," the President said.
The President stated that the pay issues primarily affected HR and legal staff, as well as some employees working in local councils.
The salaries for all civil service employees, judiciary staff, and council employees who had not yet received a raise under pay harmonization were increased this past November.
The President stated at that time that more than 20,000 employees would see a salary increase through the pay harmonization process.
