President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that providing true love to children means teaching them about religion and the world.
The President made this statement in a social media post shared in connection with Children's Day, which is being celebrated today.
In his post, he extended greetings for the day to all children and their families.
In this congratulatory message, President Dr. Muizzu stated that providing age-appropriate education and upbringing as children grow is a national responsibility that must be fulfilled by the government and the citizens together.
"Providing true love is teaching those children about religion and the world. It is empowering them to live as responsible individuals tomorrow. It is not allowing space for any word or action that would disrupt the innocent life of any child," the President's message read.
In the Maldives, Children's Day is celebrated at the national level on May 10th each year.
