The Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development has started awarding land in Kudahuvadhoo for the construction of 50 housing units under the government’s housing policy.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu previously announced that the government would support people who own land but cannot afford to build homes on it. The pledge was made in February last year.

In a video report shared today, the Housing Ministry said agreements are now being signed to hand over land for the project in Kudahuvadhoo.

The ministry stated that the project will give families the opportunity to live in separate homes and provide relief to those facing housing difficulties.

According to the ministry, the project includes 900-square-foot three-bedroom housing units developed under a contractor finance policy. The project was awarded to FLEXINC Pvt Ltd.
