President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the Maldives will reap the true benefits of the Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) signed with Sri Lanka across seven key sectors. He made these remarks while speaking at a ceremony held at the Sri Lankan Presidential Secretariat during his ongoing state visit, following an official invitation from the Sri Lankan President.

The President noted that he engaged in extensive discussions with Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on various sectors, covering bilateral, regional, and international issues. President Muizzu emphasized that the real advantage of these agreements would be realized by the Maldives, adding that his goal is to ensure these commitments are transformed into tangible results.

Furthermore, the President highlighted Sri Lanka's significant role in the progress and development of the Maldivian economy. He reiterated his administration's commitment to making the Maldives a favorable environment for investors.

As part of the visit, a forum titled the "Maldives-Sri Lanka Business Forum" is scheduled to take place. According to the President’s Office, this forum will provide a platform for businesses, investors, and producers from both nations to meet under one roof and discuss available economic opportunities.
